If you still have a long message to post, upload a text file, or paste it in from a separate editor - Discord will literally go above and beyond to help you post it in a way that everyone else can read it if they so desire. Nitro users are given a higher limit because someone who pays is less likely to abuse - period. The 'make user experience more convenient' thing is mostly as it relates to spam, and people posting way too long messages that make it impossible for one to follow a conversation. Plus, it's not like Discord *decreased* the limit for non-Nitro users so that they can give Nitro users the original limit. If you paste in text that is too long, Discord will automatically tell you 'hey, this is over the character limit, do you wanna upload this as a text file instead?', and when you upload a text file, it's content is actually visible in-app in a collapsible embed. However, Discord has made tools to help posting longer messages viable for everyone. But now, by introducing the artificial limit, the started to slowly bite off parts of the basic functional for what chat was created, and that's why I want to comply.Ĭharacter limits are always artificial. And I don't comply to these days just because all these animated avatars and emojis are just. I understand that people who develop Discord are people, who like to, well, sometimes eat, and I strongly agreed with them when they removed animated emojis, made Nitro-only animated avatars, etc. This limit of 2000 characters is now just an artificially created obstacle, which is being lift off by Discord Nitro. For me, this didn't have that much logic in the first place, but now even this fragile argument is being torn apart by introducing a small group of elite, who totally ignore this 'convenience-based' rule, rendering it useless.
